Disney Cruise Packages

Disney Cruise Vacations

March 19, 2010

This seems to be the year of the cruise vacation and it has been very interesting to watch as the specials just keep rolling out. Before, you had to book your pre and post cruise entertainment separately and take the time to research both to find the best deals for you and your family. But all that is changing in 2010 as the great entertainers at Disney have taken it upon themselves to assemble some of the most incredible yet highly affordable cruise vacation packages that take all the guess work out of your vacation planning.

Walt Disney has vacation packages to fit in any budget but the ones we are looking at here are their latest offerings for Disney Vacation Cruises. These packages combine pre or post cruise fun with transportation and many meals all in one very attractive package.

Deciphering the packages in the Disney Cruise Vacation Specials

The process of booking your first Disney Cruise vacation can be particularly confusing if you don't understand the reservation process. For that reason we thought is wise to include this page to help guide you through the steps one at a time. If we can simplify the process a bit here your vacation can get started off stress free and in the right direction from day one.

  • Step 1: Decide on rough date for your vacation. If just the month at this point to see when the sailings are and to where their departing to. In Step 4 you will narrow this to a specific date that coincides with your chosen cruise departure.
  • Step 2: Decide where you would like to go for the cruise portion of your vacation.
  • Step 3: Narrow down the length of your vacation. Disney Cruises offers 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15 night cruises. Disney can take you and your family to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Mexican Riviera, Alaska (Starting in 2011), and some occasional sailings through the Panama Canal.
  • Step 4: The ships from Disney set sails all 12 months of the year. This allows you to choose the times of the year that best fits your families plans. Remember that there are times when the vessels are busier than others. Travel around the major holidays, in the heat of the summer vacation months or for any of the special sailings offered by Disney and you are likely to experience a very busy vacation time when prices are usually the more expensive and the best dates book quite early. Travel during the shoulder seasons and you reap the benefits of lower prices, your dates can be more flexible and the need to book six months to a year in advance is all but eliminated. It is still wise to book out as far as possible to lock in the best dates, staterooms, and pre or post cruise activities.
  • Step 5: Now's the time to contact your Disney Authorized Cruise Agent and begin the booking of your Disney Vacation. By using one of the many Certified Disney Destination Specialists you're assured that your travel agent is up to date on all aspects of booking your vacation. Most are graduates of the College of Disney Knowledge, an in-depth comprehensive correspondence course that allows agents to develop their expertise regarding the Disney Destinations, cruise ships and itineraries.
