Disney Dream Cruises 2011: In celebration of their newest ship, the Disney Dream, Disney cruises is offering some special cruise packages to families looking for the absolute in Disney family vacation.

Early in the morning on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011, the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line of family vacations arrived at the dock at Port Canaveral, Florida.

The elegant new Disney Dream, a completely new cruise liner designed from the ground up to be the ultimate family cruise ship on the water to date, sailed into the Port Canaveral piers sporting 1250 shiny new staterooms that can accommodate up to 4,000 lucky passengers. The Disney Dream is only the first of two all new cruise ships Disney Cruises is building at a total combined cost exceeding $1.8 billion. The Dream will be joined by Disney Fantasy in the spring of 2012 with all the new venues promising to awaken the minds of passengers young and old. The two new ships will increase the capacity of Disney Cruise Line by nearly 150 percent.

Look for these specials to continue throughout the summer and well into 2012 when the debut of the second of these new cruise liners, The Disney Fantasy, is placed into service.

Here are some of the changes we have already seen ever since the news about these new ships became public. Many of these changes created new opportunities for families looking for something new from their Disney Cruise package. Well the good news is that the wait is over, something totally revolutionary just keeps Disney in the headlines all across the globe.

  • Shortly after announcing that two new cruise ships will be built for their cruise line, Disney announced that the Disney Magic was about to embark on the company’s first ever Mediterranean cruises.
  • With the arrival of the Disney Dream, Disney announces that the Disney Wonder will be stationed on the West Coast and will be offering cruise packages to Alaska in the summer and the Mexican Rivera during the remainder of the year.
  • Disney Cruise Line announces it will offer seven-night Alaska cruise packages aboard the Disney Wonder in summer 2011. The Disney Alaska cruise packages will be departing out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
