One of our favorite thing about a Disney Cruise is the stop at Castaway Cay. Here, Disney has something special waiting for guests of all ages. The ship arrives around 8.30am for a day of fun on the private beaches of Castaway Cay.

Disney Cruise Line offers their guests a cruising experience as fun and exciting as any Disney theme park vacation there is. Yes, it’s been described as a floating Disney Wonderland that actually takes you to adventures beyond your wildest dreams. Imagine going to sleep amidst a disappearing ocean horizon and waking to the sound of pirates as you approach the shores of Castaway Cay. Looking out from your stateroom you see in front of you none other then The Flying Dutchman, from Disney's famous movie Pirates of the Caribbean. Whoa, now the blood begins to perk in your veins as Captain Jack Sparrow begins to appear on the shore ahead of you.

Where Is Castaway Cay?

Disney's Private Island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, is nothing short of a living tropical paradise! True to the Walt Disney Tradition, all the buildings have been made to look as if they had been improvised after a shipwreck, hence the name, Castaway Cay.

There are three beaches for guests to choose from. The first is for all family members to enjoy together. Another is entirely for teens, and another exclusively for adults, called Serenity Bay.

Serenity bay is a beach purely for adults where you will find massage cabanas, hammocks, loungers, palm trees and more all encompassed among a peaceful tropical setting.

A beach for families which is the largest of the three has loungers, palm trees, protected beaches and swimming areas that are close to all the water sport rentals. It also has a great play area for the little ones in your family as well.

The Disney Adventure family vacation, what a great way to spend time together.	Yup, it must be a Walt Disney Cruise as those wonderful charactors are everywhere. Disney has taken the time to made it very convenient to step off their ships onto their private island paradise where they provide a tram ride to all the fun and activities you will find on the 3 pristine family beaches waiting you at Castaway Cay.

The seven-night cruises visit Castaway Cay on Fridays, four-night cruises visit on Tuesdays, and three-night cruises visit on Saturdays.

We weren’t sure what to expect when we first booked this trip but can honestly say that Castaway Cay was a dream come true. We were there in the last week of August and everything was picture perfect! The sun was hot, the water warm, the beach was clean, and the party just seemed to never end! Our only regret was that we couldn't spend another day there as we would have liked more time to experience more of the fun activities offered at this Disney Paradise. We felt that Castaway Cay was one of the main highlights of our cruise.
